Call Now
The fastest way to reach a dispatcher. Best for anything urgent, anything in traffic, and anything you would rather explain out loud.
Request a Tow
Send your vehicle, location, and what happened. Good for non-urgent tows, scheduled moves, and situations where you are somewhere safe.
Share My Location
Your phone sends exact GPS coordinates instead of a guessed address. Use this on highways and rural roads where landmarks are not enough.
What we do
Towing and roadside services
Light-duty towing, recovery, and roadside work across Ottawa and the surrounding area. Not sure which one you need? Call +1 (613) 890-9008 and describe what the vehicle is doing.
Process
How it works
Four steps from your call to a signed digital tow ticket in your inbox.
Tell us what happened
Call +1 (613) 890-9008 or send a request. We need the vehicle, where it is, what it is doing, and where it needs to go. If you are on a phone, Share My Location removes the guesswork about where you are.
We confirm before we roll
A dispatcher confirms the pickup point, the destination, any access limits, and the charges that apply. You know the numbers before a truck is sent, not after.
Documented pickup
The driver photographs the vehicle's condition before touching it, secures the load properly for that specific vehicle, and transports it to your destination.
Sign and get your record
You sign on the driver's device and receive a private link to your digital tow ticket — photos, itemized charges, times, and drop-off details. That is the document your insurer will ask for.
Coverage
Where we work
Ottawa is our primary service area — the downtown core, the suburbs, and the rural wards. That means Queensway shoulders and the Highway 174 and 416 corridors, downtown parkades with tight clearances, residential streets during winter parking bans, and the rural roads around our yard in the east end.
Need us outside Ottawa? Call +1 (613) 890-9008 and tell us where you are. Coverage beyond the city depends on the location and the job, and we would rather tell you honestly on the phone than send a truck that cannot reach you.
Service areas
Outside these areas? Call +1 (613) 890-9008 — we will tell you straight away whether we can reach you.
Why us
Why choose Swift Towing
The things that actually separate one tow truck from another.
Every job is documented
Condition photos before loading, timestamps, and a signed digital ticket. If damage is ever disputed, there is a record instead of an argument.
Prices explained up front
You hear the charges before the vehicle is loaded, and they arrive itemized on your ticket. If a job needs work beyond the estimate, the driver tells you first.
We know this region
Queensway shoulders, downtown parkade clearances, winter parking bans, and rural concession roads where GPS gets it wrong. Local knowledge is what gets a truck to you efficiently.
Straight answers
If a boost will not hold, we say so. If your vehicle needs a flat deck, we explain why. If we are running behind, you get a real estimate instead of a comfortable one.
Modern, not paper
Digital tow tickets, digital signatures, photo records, and a private link to your own copy. No carbon-copy slip to lose before you file a claim.
Careful with your vehicle
All-wheel drive on a deck, soft ties where they belong, manufacturer tie-down points, and proper recovery rigging. Doing it right costs us minutes and saves you a repair bill.
Reviews
What our customers say
We are building our review profile
We would rather show you nothing than show you testimonials we made up. Real reviews from real customers will appear here as they come in.
If something was not right with your job, call +1 (613) 890-9008 before leaving a review — we would rather fix it.
Questions
Emergency towing FAQ
The questions people actually ask when they are stuck. Straight answers, no filler.
All questionsMy vehicle broke down. What should I do first?
Put your hazard lights on immediately. If the vehicle still moves, get it completely off the roadway — a parking lot or side street is far better than a shoulder. If you are on a highway, get as far right as you can, exit on the side away from traffic, and move well behind the vehicle and off the road surface. Then call +1 (613) 890-9008 with your location, the vehicle, and what happened.
Is it safer to wait inside my vehicle or outside it?
If you are on a narrow highway shoulder, outside and well behind the vehicle is generally safer — stopped vehicles on shoulders are struck often. Move off the road surface entirely, behind a guardrail or up an embankment if you can. In a parking lot or on a quiet residential street, staying in the vehicle with the doors locked is fine. In extreme cold with nowhere safe to stand, staying belted in with hazards on may be the lesser risk. Tell the dispatcher what you decided so the driver knows where to look for you.
I do not know exactly where I am. How do I tell you?
Use the Share My Location button on our request form. Your phone sends precise GPS coordinates and we get an exact map pin instead of a description. This matters most on highways and rural roads, where landmarks repeat and drivers routinely misjudge distances.
How much does a tow cost?
Towing is priced on a hook-up charge plus distance, with additional charges when a job needs winching, extra time on scene, or specialized loading. Because those factors vary by job, we give you the figures for your specific situation when you call. Ask for the total before you agree to the tow — you should never be surprised by the final number.
Will I know the price before you tow my vehicle?
Yes. The charges that apply are explained before the vehicle is loaded, and they appear itemized on your digital tow ticket, which you sign. If a job turns out to need work that was not part of the original estimate — an unexpected winch-out, for example — the driver tells you before doing it.
How long will it take for a truck to arrive?
It depends on where you are, what the traffic and weather are doing, and how many calls are ahead of you. The dispatcher will give you a realistic estimate when you call. We do not promise guaranteed arrival times, because in a cold snap, a snowfall, or freezing rain, every honest operator in Ottawa is running behind and a number that sounds good is not worth anything.
What is a digital tow ticket?
It is the record of your job. It lists the vehicle, the pickup and drop-off locations, the driver, the times, the itemized charges, and photos of the vehicle's condition when we took custody of it. You sign it on the driver's device and receive a private link to your own copy. It is the document to keep for your insurer.
Does an all-wheel-drive vehicle need a flat deck?
Generally yes. Towing an all-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive vehicle with wheels turning on the road can damage the transfer case or differential. The vehicle needs all four wheels off the ground — a flat deck, or dollies. Tell us the drivetrain when you call so the right truck is sent.
My car was towed from a parking lot. How do I get it back?
Call +1 (613) 890-9008 with your plate number. We will confirm whether we have your vehicle, tell you where it is, and explain exactly what identification, proof of ownership, and payment are needed to release it. If we do not have it, another operator or the police may — we will tell you that too rather than leave you guessing.
What areas do you serve?
Ottawa is our primary service area, including downtown, the suburbs, and the rural wards. For anywhere outside the city, call +1 (613) 890-9008 and confirm — coverage beyond Ottawa depends on the location and the job.
Commercial, fleet & property management
For businesses that need towing to be predictable
Fleet operators, dealerships, repair shops, condo boards, and commercial landlords need more than a phone number. They need documented removals, authorized-contact control, consolidated invoicing, and records that can be produced months later when a tow is disputed.
- Named authorized contacts — nothing is towed on an anonymous call
- Photo and timestamp documentation on every removal
- Signed digital authorizations stored against your property or account
- Retrievable tow records for disputes and chargebacks
- Signage review before an enforcement program starts
- Consolidated invoicing instead of per-call payment
